What’s in a Name?
When shop owner Neal was a kid, Saturdays were called “Dayo” days. A playful term Neal’s dad would sing and exclaim every weekend morning, signaling that the day was going to be a good one. It was the taste of sunny side up eggs, the smell of fresh cut grass, the feeling of a sprinkler in the summer, or the sound of an enormous bucket of legos being dumped out on the living room floor (legos = the most elite Dayo days).
And so Dayo Days was born, a name that captures the youthful spirit and familiar nostalgia of those humble, but perfect mornings. The name also honors Neal’s dad, who continues to inspire by encapsulating nurtured creativity, humble curiosity and a sense of play that we all need, even as adults.
